The Problem

Why schools call us about scoreboards

Aging Boards (Pre-2010)

Older incandescent or single-color LED scoreboards are increasingly hard to source parts for. Replacement gets simpler — and cheaper to operate — every year.

Controller Failures

The scoreboard controller is the most common failure point after year 10. Replacement boards are backwards-compatible with most legacy displays.

Wireless Receiver Issues

Wireless gunfire-actuated controllers (used in track, swimming, gymnastics) drift over time. Daktronics handles the re-pairing procedure directly — we'll point you to the right contact.

Capital Project Bids

New gym builds and athletic facility renovations require scoreboard procurement built into the bid. We provide compliant pricing and spec docs.

Frequently Asked

Questions ADs ask about Daktronics Scoreboards.

How long does a Daktronics scoreboard install take?

Indoor wall-mount boards: 1 day. Outdoor stadium boards: 2–4 days depending on tower work and wiring runs. Center-hung indoor systems: 1 week including rigging and commissioning.

What's the lifespan of a modern LED scoreboard?

15–20 years on the LED panels (50,000+ hours). Controllers typically last 10–12 years before software/hardware obsolescence. Service on Daktronics boards comes directly from Daktronics — as the manufacturer, they support units going back decades. We handle the sales and installation side.

Can you install a Daktronics board sourced elsewhere?

Yes. We handle install-only contracts. But buying through us as the authorized dealer gives you better pricing, faster delivery, and protected warranty coverage.

Do you offer message center / video board pricing?

Yes — Daktronics LED message centers and full-video boards. Typical school district budget ranges run $35K–$120K depending on size and resolution.
